Our Skatepark

Introducing The Barb Iverson Skate Plaza

The Barb Iverson Skate Plaza, a tribute to the late Sioux Falls middle school teacher, embodies our commitment to cultivating an inclusive skateboarding community. In collaboration with the city, Let’s Skate secured $800,000 in municipal funding and raised an impressive $1.65 million through dedicated fundraising. Spanning 20,000 square feet, it is poised to be one of the nation's largest skateparks, designed by New Line Skateparks for innovation and diversity.

A Community At Work

The facility, a result of collaboration with the Sioux Falls Parks Department, strategically located at East 10th Street and Cliff Avenue, aligns with the City's Master Plan for Nelson Park. With features like a flow bowl area, advanced section, rock terrace, street plaza lane, and grind rails, the park caters to skateboarders of all skill levels. Led by Kanten Russell, a former professional skateboarder and Design Project Manager, the New Line team prioritizes empathy, ADA accessibility, and sustainability, aligning with Let's Skate's values. More than a skatepark, the Barb Iverson Skate Plaza symbolizes community collaboration, honoring Iverson's legacy, and promising a lasting impact on Sioux Falls' skateboarding scene. Let’s Skate eagerly anticipates welcoming skateboarders of all ages and abilities, fostering a sense of community and celebrating the spirit of skateboarding for years to come.
